Vital Energy

by Marcus on July 16, 2011

I was talking with a stranger on a train journey between London and Dawlish and a conversation was started whilst we waited for them to ‘clear some cows off the line’ – rural living does sometimes have its drawbacks…

When they asked me what I did, I told them I helped people to live a long, healthy and happy life by teaching them skills and techniques to overcome physical, emotional, mental and spiritual illness. Usually that’s enough to encourage the conversation to take a different route.

But they seemed genuinely interested in learning more.

I explained that I teach Qigong, which is the art of deliberately working on your bodies vital energy. And how vital energy is the ‘stuff’ that keeps you and me alive and all of the millions of functions of the body working correctly.

The word ‘deliberately’ got me thinking. You see we often do Qigong without realizing it. Stretching, tensing and yawning are a few of the bodies ways of working on your vital energy. But when we practice Qigong we get far more results, because we are doing it deliberately. We benefit from the findings of the Qigong masters of the past.

We who practice Qigong are very fortunate to be doing so.

Deliberately means Chi Kung done consciously and intentionally.

I couldn’t have put it better myself Clovis: consciously and intentionally. Very good.
